From 1 of October eco-friendly textiles will be sold in Russia. IKEA presented the collection of home textile “Musselblomma” made from recycled ocean plastic.
The part of the raw-material was caught by spanish fishermen. According to company caught plastic fold in special containers, then clean and sort, mechanically processed, mixed with recycled PET bottles and turned into yarn and fabric.
A series of textile is made by spanish designer Inma Bermúdez. The theme of the collection is the sea. Items are decorated with pattern of circles, squares, and simplified triangles reminding a fish. In the serie there are mainly green, turquoise and coralline colors.
IKEA informed that they would continue to fight with the pollution of the oceans, so in future there would be other goods produced from recycled ocean raw-materials.
